IT System Administrator (m/f/d)
Together with the team, you will be responsible for supporting all employees at the institute site in all IT matters and provide support for all services offe-red by the IT department. You administrate the physical and virtualised (kvm, esx) server infrastruc-ture as well as the relevant operating systems (Linux, Windows) and manage the networks (VPN, firewall, routing). You will also be responsible for analysing and rectifying errors in first-level support for hardware and software. You are responsible for the account and rights management of an Active Di-rectory domain. You will be involved in the further development of the Weizenbaum Institu-te's IT infrastructure. You will also be involved in the design, implementation and further develop-ment of IT security measures and the migration of an AD domain to Samba4. You will manage and administrate the software management system for Windows clients (chocolatey) used at the Weizenbaum Institute. Last but not least, you will be responsible for maintaining the user and admin documentation in the in-house wiki.
A successfully completed university degree in IT (e.g. Bachelor of Computer Science) and at least three years of relevant professional experience in an IT context. Good knowledge of current client and server operating systems (Windows and Linux), virtualisation technologies (kvm, esx) and network technology from layer 0 to 8, including IPv6 as well as Good knowledge of managing heterogeneous Active Directory environments in a hybrid cloud. A reliable, service-oriented and independent way of working as well as good organisational skills. Good written and spoken English (at least B2 level). German language skills are preferable. Multidisciplinary team experience and a willingness to work across depart-ments.
